We are seeking a Director of Development with strong financial management skills to effectively move the organization to the next level of visibility and success. A critical aspect of the job is to seek out new opportunities for funding and to bring innovative ideas forward for consideration by the Founder and Chairman, Director of Research & Operations and the Board of Directors.

Purpose of Role:
About this Research Foundation: This Foundation is an independent, 501(c)3 non-profit research institute pioneering regenerative orthopedic treatments to stimulate the body’s own healing properties to reduce the suffering of sports injuries and arthritis. Compensation and Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities: • Collaborates with the Founder/Chairman, Director of Research & Operations, and Board of Directors, and to lead, educate, engage and coordinate effort to maximize fundraising involvement, outcome, and activities • Serves as liaison with the Board members to recruit, cultivate, and maintain relations with donors and prospective donors; oversees strategies to engage and solicit major gift prospects • Coordinates with organization’s partners and stakeholder on donor prospect/recruitment, and marketing efforts • Sets and meets fundraising objectives and goals; evaluates ongoing results and guides initiatives • Establishes and monitors key metrics for development activities; provides ongoing reports and data analysis to track programs • Leads, inspires and manages the development team to achieve relationship-building and funding objectives Qualifications: • A passion for the Foundation’s mission and values • Degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related discipline / experience • Minimum of five years non-profit/business leadership experience • Passion for medical research and current knowledge of research foundation funding • Knowledge of accounting principles for non-profits • Strong staff supervisory, motivational, and interpersonal skills; ability to provide staff and community leadership and guide investment in people and systems • Ability to set clear priorities with keen analytic and problem-solving and decision-making skills • Able to adapt to immediate or unforeseen challenges • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong public speaking skills This Foundation is committed to workforce diversity.
